Games to Play at Home ShowsBy Leah Day, Independent
Consultant for L'Bri Pure n' Natural So here's a list of
some easy, fun games to play at your home shows or parties. This
is designed for selling skin care products, but you can probably adapt
this to sell any line of products through direct sales. The
Price is Right
This is a terrific
game if you have a lot of products sitting around the house not being
used. Set up 3 different product sets
on a table with envelopes in front of every one. In the envelope write
the retail price of all the products together and the discount price if
customers purchase all the products as a set. When it comes time to play the game have every guest at your party guess the price of each set, one at a time. The three people that pick the closest prices get a small prize: an CD or DVD about joining the company, sample, or cosmetic bag, etc. Use this game to also reinforce the fact that L'Bri products are very affordable and each product in the set will last at least 3 months, if not longer. Price is Right Individual Product GameIf you don't have a lot of products laying around, you can still use the Price is Right model for individual products. Take a product like the Facial Masque, something that produces amazing results that the guests will immediatly see a difference with, and talk it up. List the ingredients, what each thing does, how your skin will change, and how most customers look like they've had a stroke when they use it on one side of their face because the other side is so saggy.
After giving this
full introduction, say this "Now that you know about the Facial
Masque, let me ask you: how much do you think this product costs?"
Ask each person in turn, except your hostess because she probably already
knows. Really play up how awesome this individual product is and how expensive
it should be. After getting all the answers, reveal the answer as only
$26.50, give a Facial Masque sample to the guest that guessed closest
to the right answer.
Hand each guest at your party between $500 and $1000 in fake money. If you can't find fake money in any of the stores in your area, just look for a Monopoly game and just use the cash out of it. After you hand out the money to each person, say this "I've just handed you all some fake money, but I'd like you to imagine that it's real. What would you do if you could count on this much extra money each month? What would you do with this cash?" Listen to each woman
as they give their answers and try to remember their responses. These
Hot Buttons can certainly come in handy later when you discuss the Consultant
Program with them and explain how easily they can earn that much
extra money. This is a fairly old game, but it's still very useful for recruiting and generating new bookings. Give each guest a profile sheet. On the back is space to play the name game. Give everyone 2 minutes to write down the names of everyone they know that would like to learn about L'Bri. At the end ask each person how many people they thought of. Give a prize to the person that thought of the most names, but don't stop there! Bring up the name game later when discussing the Consultant Program with each lady in turn. Show them how knowing a lot of people is really helpful in starting their business and how easy it is to meet new people through sampling, word of mouth, and being friendly. The Ingredient Game
Sit all the products down in the center of the table and explain to everyone that you're going to learn how to read the ingredient lists. Go through your list of chemicals such as Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Mineral Oil, Paraffin, Beeswax, SD Alcohol 40, Isopropyll Alcohol, FD&C dyes, and Fragrance and explain what these chemicals do and wait for the guests to find them in their products. After enlightening the guests as to how toxic their products are, offer to lighten their load by passing around a trash can! For everyone that gives up their products, make sure they leave the party with a pack of samples to use until their order arrives.
Use these game ideas for your next home party and see how it works for you! Remember, the best way to hold a successful show or party is to be fun, entertaining, and educational to all the guests that attend. Contact Leah Day for more great ideas on holding successful home parties!
